In my first-ever mini-documentary, I explore many technologies, industries and practices that are going to be key as the United Kingdom works towards reaching net zero emissions by 2050. The UK has a legal obligation to reach carbon neutrality by 2050 which was enshrined into law by the Theresa May government in 2019.

Sheffield Wednesday bosses make huge gesture to help legendary fundraiser reach his £1m target

The club have confirmed that fundraising legend John Burkhill - otherwise known as ‘the man with the pram’ – will be returning to Hillsborough for the Owls’ season-opener in pursuit of his ‘magic million’.

John, aged 83 and from Handsworth, has raised over £850,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support over the years but is desperate to reach his £1 target.

Arson attack causes yet more damage to abandoned ski village - look how it has changed over the years

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said the blaze on Wednesday at the Parkwood Springs site is believed to have been started deliberately – the latest in a long list of arson attacks at the site over the years.

In the aftermath of the fire, large swathes of grassland were scorched black with some trees’ leaves visibly discoloured.

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue managed to get the blaze under control and no-one is believed to have been injured.

But he is desperate to spend some time with his daughter at Bramall Lane on Tuesday night when England play in one of the Euro 2022 semi-finals after getting through last night.

South Yorkshire neighbourhood 'heartbroken' for families who lost everything in devastating fire during 38C heat

In the space of a few hours more than £15,000 has been raised, which will be split between families in the Woodlands Drive area of Barnsley, who lost everything in yesterday’s blazes.

Stolen goods valued at £150,000 found during police raid in South Yorkshire

The raid in Rotherham, carried out by British Transport Police and supported by the Joint Unit for Waste Crime, uncovered stolen items including a ride-on lawn mower and a woodchipper worth over £25,000.

Further items stolen from multiple burglaries and thefts across the region were seized and returned making the total goods recovered between £140,000-150,000.
